Once the kids get out of school the biggest problem becomes how you will entertain them in the summer months. Camps are great and having friends over can be fun too. Spending as much time outdoors as possible seems extra appealing this time of year as a parent given the amount of technology time kids have. How will you get the kids out having fun in the backyard this summer? Some parents may consider a fun alternative to a pool: a slip and slide.
Massachusetts Liability Insurance. You know where we are going with this by now. What about the home insurance coverage for a slip and slide? How much liability coverage do you need? How careful do you need to be about your own children and visitors having fun on the slip and slide? These are all great questions to ask yourself before setting up a slip and slide. We swear, we are not trying to ruin your summer fun, but rather just make sure you and the whole family are safe and protected.
First, you may be surprised to find that there is no coverage for family members. If a member of your household is hurt it’s up to you to pay those medical bills. Guests of the home who are hurt would be privy to the medical payments available on the home insurance policy in the event that they were injured. Your personal liability would provide coverage in the event of a law suit. This could be anything from injuries as small as a broken toe to death resulting from an extreme accident. As well, this could be seen as an “attractive nuisance” to an uninvited guest… your homeowner policy would still respond.
